Icelandair er Islands nasjonale flyselskap, og ble stiftet i 1973 ved en sammenslutning av de to konkurrerende islandske flyselskapene Flugfélag Íslands og Loftleiðir. Selskapet har et omfattende rutenett i NordenEuropa og USA, og drar mye nytte av Islands geografiske beliggenhet, som har og gjort Keflavik til en transittlufthavn for passasjerer som reiser mellom USA og ulike byer i Europa. Denne virksomheten står for omtrent halvparten av selskapets operasjoner.

Selskapet opererer også flygninger i Norge, med ruter fra BergenOsloStavanger og Trondheim til Keflavik internasjonale lufthavn utenfor Reykjavík.
